And I got the Halloween tree and stuff set up on the drawing table this morning. Now I get to see how Norma reacts to having a bunch of stuff on her table - she uses the drawing table as a throughway for playing The Floor is Lava. I'm thinking of this as a small test for Xmas, when we will have an Actual Tree in the living room. New cats for Christmas!

I finished a few small projects this week. Mostly repairs to the charm dangles on Minerva the Filofax and the project sketchbook, both of which had snagged and pulled apart. But also a set of fidget beads to carry in my purse, based around one of Eleanor Wiley's Sacred Wheel of Peace mandala pendants. Photo )

It's a start. Perhaps now I can get back to one of the bigger projects.

I declared this last weekend Sewing Weekend. The plan was to complete a couple of small sewing projects, then close up Arachne and reorganize a bit.

Well, I finished one project, a second cover for my lap pillow*. The little silk drawstring bags are still in progress. So it's Sewing Week. Whatever. Anyway, here's a picture. I actually made two covers; Kitty asked for one just like mine for her old crib pillow. Since her pillow is the same size as mine, it was easy.

I used a Halloween print quilting cotton fabric from Joann's. The pillow is a baby size, big enough for the tablet or a book, but there's still enough space for Shadow to fit next to me.

Envelope pillowcase for crib-size lap pillow, cotton with fortune card print.

*The other cover being the Capt Marvel print.

In addition to the laundry today, I did an art thing. Or at least art-adjacent. Clicky For Photo )

I had this idea for a decoration for my little wee studio. Originally it was going to be "CREATE" in wooden building blocks, and then I found a whole tub of them at the Goodwill for cheap so I embellished a bit. "TIME TO CREATE" was inspired by the Moomintrolls; Moominpapa has dragged everyone off to a lighthouse so he can write the Great Novel. Next morning, Moominmama wakes him up early. Anyway, I think it's funny*. Photos and all that )

I did a thing. It actually looks very much like I imagined. Yay. Photos hereafter )

I modified my pocket-sized* Oberon Design leather notebook cover to work as a Midori-type traveller's notebook (or TN for short) and hold multiple inserts. Aka a sort of Fauxdori. Photos below the cut. )

The world is horrible today. Have some owls (link goes to my Instagram, scroll for all four photos). Owls courtesy of Emily.

I'm still pottering around, but I think the books are in their final order, more or less. Enter the library )
