I finished the first doll.
Bottle Pendants from Part the First
Materials: Antique ceramic doll head*, glass bottle† I put silk flowers inside, galvanized steel wire, Apoxie Sculpt clay, acrylic paints, vintage chain, sari silk ribbon, plastic flower cabochon, charms, heavy matte gel medium tinted with yellow ochre acrylic paint‡.
I made her arms from Apoxie Sculpt (love that stuff!) and painted them with a blend of acrylic paints. She has her journal, pen and ink on the right hand, her fan on the left, and a Bliss heart I made from Apoxie Sculpt. The whole thing is about 4½" tall.

The back, showing the wire wrap and gel medium.

*Salvaged from a bombed-out German doll factory, these bits of broken dolls are all the rage with the mixed media crowd.
†Came home from Emily's kitchen with some petrified green stuff inside. I think it was matcha powder. It soaked out, anyway.
‡The instructor used melted beeswax to cover the wire holding the arms and chain bits on. I don't own a suitable melting pot, and wax in the California summer just didn't seem like a good idea anyway. Imagine the cat hair it'd collect.
