Cat Art Doll the First

Today I finished my first Mystic Cat Sage*
Materials: Ceramic face, matboard, paints, glues, fabric, beads and charms, mulberry lace paper, assorted and sundry vintage leaves.

Her name is Thera, which is Greek for untamed. She protects all wild things, and is devoted to the Goddess Artemis.
Thera's face is from Lyn Belisle's Etsy shop; I liked the earthenware as it came, and decided to go with earthtones. Her heart box has skeleton leaves, vintage velvet leaves, a Chinese zodiac coin representing all animals, and a bone bead with stars. On her shoulders Thera carries her messengers, an owl and a raven. The crosspiece is covered with mulberry lace paper, skelton leaves, and silk leaf branches.
I used bamboo sticks from our garden clump for her legs, wrapped them in batik fabric, and gave her boots† made from vintage velvet leaves. Her skirt is a scrap of deerskin leather with a tree milagro clasp. Thera stands about 14" tall in her velvet catboots (giggles).
Her sister is still under construction, but I hope to finish her this weekend.
*Sage because I just can't with Shaman, sorry.
†Catboots! Kittyboots! Sorry, it just makes me giggle.
