My Package Arrived
Jan. 10th, 2008 12:21 pmMy Paradise Fibers package arrived, none the worse for its tour of the North-and-Southwest. Now what I really need is new shelves in my studio, so I can gloat over, um, display my collection of Lantern Moon baskets and workbags when I'm not using them.
Also arrived, my photo supply store package, so I have four new black-edged 5x7 float frames (take that, Michaels, Aaron Brothers and the rest of the local businesses I tried first) and a spare package of paper for the photo printer.
Proboards is not being nice to me, again. Either I get the "too many connections" message, or it won't connect at all. Pfui upon Proboards, a plague on all their... something beginning with P.
And now the page has sort of half-loaded - just the banner at the top. No, I refreshed and it's back again. Now to see if I can finish reading those five pages.
Well, if I can't get back to the Thrall Room again today, I hope you are all having a pleasant day and that things are going well for you and yours.

Date: 2008-01-10 09:08 pm (UTC)Anyway, I suspect that UPS has a sorting center in SLC, for which Hermiston is a sensible person's by-station, especially in winter; it keeps the truck from having to go over any high passes until US 20. I was too sleepy to look at the road atlas last night, but it makes sense if one looks at the roads: Spokane to SoCal otherwise involves Snoquamie Pass, which has been hammered for the past month, and then Grant's Pass, which is iffy and slower than molasses at best in January and often closed.
Julia, this is a dramatic sort of winter in the high country

Date: 2008-01-10 09:56 pm (UTC)"The Thrall Room"!!! OMG!! I cannot believe that little invention of mine is still going 'round. :-) Unbelievable!! :-)
Sounds like you're re-doing a studio....and sounds quite nice....
Hope your day is going well, too - sounds like it is, except for the proboards thing-y.

Date: 2008-01-10 11:24 pm (UTC)My studio is actually the 10x10 "bonus" room (too small to legally be a bedroom) behind the kitchen that the previous owners stuck their small daughter in. Right now it's full of boxes and bags and half-finished projects, mostly mine, but I have ambitions of making it actually functional someday.
I have time. We own the house (or at least the bank does). As I told a particularly obnoxious realtor one day, I'm not leaving until they carry me out feet first.
Anne, I refrained with some difficulty from shrieking "I'm terrifed of realtors" and slamming the door, because she wouldn't have gotten it
