Just another manic Monday
May. 21st, 2007 08:14 amSpawn. Don't Talk to Me About Spawn.
Kitty is missing a major written project. I asked Steward to talk to her if he has a chance, because this is the first I'd heard about it, and Goddess knows I've asked, and asked, and asked about homework until I look like Illyria (i.e., blue in the face).
I just don't know what to do anymore. I ask the teachers to tell me immediately if she starts backsliding, and they just keep saying she's fine, and don't mention that she isn't until it's too late. I ask Kitty and she's clueless.
Sending her to summer school, even if it isn't too late for this year, probably won't do any good - that's remedial reading, basically, at least it was in junior high, and riding the bus with her best friend, then sitting around reading some book she wants to read anyway isn't going to teach her how to pay attention in class. Besides, I'd be the one driving her back and forth, so it really inconveniences me, and if the Aged Ps have another crisis, I don't think I could manage being in several places at once, even if everybody thinks I should be able to.
I'm just sick of the whole thing. Any helpful suggestions? Legal ones only, please.
I rescheduled my doctor appointment for mid-June for various compelling and good reasons, so I'm going to stay home tomorrow and potter on my last day of nobody-home-but-me until next fall. Or maybe I'll just go back to bed.
And the fun just keeps getting not-funner...
Kitty "forgot" to turn in the two missing study guides, and when I got them out, I noticed that she had never finished them in the first place.
So she's going to finish them tonight, and I am going to double-check every goddess-damned piece of homework she does, to make sure she's actually finished her work.
Since this will be happening while I'm trying to cook dinner, something at which I do not excel right now anyway, I think we're going to be eating a lot of Lean Cuisine until the end of the school year.
Kitty is filled with righteous ire. At me. Of course, because it's All My Fault.
Anne, and I can't even vent to my mom, because if my dad finds out, he'll use Kitty as the target of his latest hissy-fit whether she deserves it or not
