Another Shrine, or, All the Love

anne_dThis is, I think, actually the first shrine/shadowbox I did - it's a KaTe Bush shrine for The Husband to keep at work, and it was made in 2004 as a Valentine's gift. The pictures are not great, but they're the best I can do for now.
The box is a purchased small shadowbox with a glass window top, about 4x6". I stained it dark blue and embellished it with metallic paint markers and decoupaged images, words and phrases pertaining to The Goddess Herself.
The inside is the KaTe card from the Rock & Roll tarot set, which I mounted on a piece of black velvet cardstock and mounted that on adhesive foam dots to make it stand up in the box:

A few explanations:
Fairlight is Kate's Computer Musical Instrument/synthesizer.
Homeground is from a song; it's also the Kate Bush fanzine.
"At first we thought it was just another KaTe cult". Um. Well, it's an adaptation of a line from the film Conan the Barbarian ("At first we thought it was just another snake cult") which The Husband came up with for our Kate-themed Mordorian calendar year. What can I say, we're very silly people.

Edit: The sun came out, sort of, so I rushed outside with my piece of white foamcore and reshot all the photos. Still not great, but better and closer to the actual colors. Yes, I am that perfectionist crazy (not that my abilities are anywhere near my ambitions, alas).
