Reorganising Again

I have a cunning plan.
As usual, I'm trying to cram as much stuff into my little 10x10 "studio" as I can, including my crafties (I hesitate to call that stuff "art"), while still being able to work in it. I can't do anything messy or large, of course, but I did manage to put together eight pairs of earrings without needing the kitchen table. It's a start.
So anyway, I was staring at the west windows last night, and I got an idea. I'm going to move the French memo board I made, which currently hangs over the (sealed, unopenable) window over my sewing cabinet, to the upper half of that window. The stuff on the memo board is to look at, and doesn't change very often, so it doesn't need to be easily accessable. Think of it as a large one-sheet scrapbook which can also hold small 3-D stuff.
Then I can hang a corkboard where the memo board was, and use that to hold sewing instructions while I'm sewing, and ideas for projects, and other non-permanent stuff. The little whiteboard/magnetboard can stay put; I use it for pattern instructions already and anyway, it's the best place to display the goddess magnet collection.
I have a corkboard, but it's boring, so I think I'll paint the frame, and maybe if I get really ambitious, the cork, although I don't know how well acrylic paint will hold up to tacks. I'm thinking a coat of black or very dark blue, with teal and purple Lumiere sponged over it.
Of course, I'll have to move the card-hanging swag thing off that window, maybe to the south window, and remove or tie back the lace valances. This is going to be fun. Not that I need a new project, but fun is something I've been lacking, and if I can get more of my nice things out where I can see them, that won't hurt either.
I still need to replace Arachne, who is going on seven years old and to the point of no more repairs, but that's more than I can deal with right now. Maybe in September I'll go talk to my sewing machine guy in Fullerton. The problem is, they all do way more than I need, and if any of those things I don't need break, they take the basic functions with them, and it is, as Buffy says, all bad...
But today is (fingers crossed) BOILD*. The Husband and I are driving to Santa Monica (because I can't drive there and back safely, or at least it worries me), where I will go potter around with Bestest Buddy and he will go to the movies.
