The top photo reminds me of Mr. Radebaugh's greenhouse in Yelm, when I was a sprout; he grew one of those big Spider Cactuses from seed, and at one point had to build it a little lean-to greenhouse where it had overgrown its bench.
The rose looks like a Granada which sat in bud here through all ten days of rain.
