Shiny Accomplishments
Jun. 5th, 2026 08:02 pmI had some extra energy and time today for pottering around with jewelry.
I bought a broken scarab bracelet years back and added some beads to lengthen it. But I was never really satisfied with it, so I put it away. Until recently, when I was reminded of it. Today, I added some jump rings to make it a bit longer, and a nicer clasp. The scarabs are glass, the beads are semiprecious from the hoard, the rest is base metal. The toggle clasp is by Tierracast.

I bought this silverplate bat bracelet back in the 1970s. I wore it a lot originally, but it’s been sitting in the bracelet collection for a while. I polished it and coated the inside where the plate is wearing off with clear nail polish.
