Today's Silly

It's like this - I have three vintage aprons, which makes them a collection, and they were languishing in a cupboard, and I really wanted to enjoy them, but I don't wear aprons.
So Bestest Buddy and I were wandering around brainstorming ideas to better organise my studio, and I had thought of running a clothesline someplace for the aprons, and then it hit me - over the laundry alcove, right up next to the ceiling.
I got some clothesline last week, but I hadn't gotten around to doing anything with it. So today when I found some old-fashioned wooden clothespegs at the Dollar Tree*, I was inspired to get out the paint ladder, nails and hammer, and there we are.

My favorite is the one in blues - it's an "Owl and the Pussycat" print. The white voile has crochet butterfly appliques, and the middle one has lots of pockets, and is cute. I wonder how long it'll take The Husband to notice?
*Do all Dollar Tree stores have that weird allergy-headache inducing, nose-curling smell? I wouldn't want to eat anything from there, and I have my doubts about the cleaning products.

Date: 2009-04-08 08:42 pm (UTC)In re Dollar Tree: the smell is cheap candles, I think; I stopped going in when I picked up fleas twice in a month!
Julia, since I'm allergc to the things and it takes weeks to get my skin to calm down again if I'm bit

Date: 2009-04-09 07:49 am (UTC)I wear aprons - but the ones I wear are like these (http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/sku972083/index.cfm?pkey=caprons-mitts-potholders&ckey=aprons-mitts-potholders). I bought a half-dozen chef's aprons at a discount store for $10/each a few years ago. They wear well, and I have stopped having to throw out clothes stained by the enthusiasm of my cooking. (We shall not mention the enthusiasm of my cooking, however, for those standing nearby, an umbrella and slicker are highly recommended.)
