Not so bad.

I had my Saturday couple of hours out, ate breakfast at the nice coffeeshop and brought half of it home to share, went to the library with Elder Daughter and discovered that Elizabeth Peters has a new Vicky Bliss out. It's not Amelia Peabody, but she has her moments.

Elder Daughter and I walked up to the market after dinner last night. It was a lovely evening except for the attack weiners on the next block and their rude teenager minions.

Dogs: "Growl snarl growl snarl" while leaping at us and biting at our pantlegs.

Teenager: "Oh, they're just being friendly."

I pointed out that he was lucky I wasn't my mom, who has Parkinson's and uses a walker; elderly people have enough trouble balancing without badly trained evil nasty attack dogs. The asshats didn't get it, and didn't care, and I have a scratch on my thigh where one of the dogs caught me through my jeans when its human picked it up. We walked down the other side of the street to get home, and I told Emily she has my permission next time to kick the dogs. I wear Birkies; Emily wears heavy walking shoes. Yes, I am evil, but those dogs need disciplining before one of them runs across the street after another animal or human and gets flattened by a speeding car.

But anyway, the rest of the evening was okay.

Today I slayed some usefuls, then Himself and I went to Sterling Art, Visions & Dreams and his favorite at-work Thai restaurant for lunch, where the owner greeted him and was pleased to inform him that they had his favorite coconut soup today. After which we came home by way of Staples, Michael's and Nordstrom's Rack. I've been pottering around my studio, figuring out what needs to be accessible and what can go on the high shelves out of the way, and putting more handmade paper in the file drawer with the extra legal files I got at Staples. The south wall is beginning to settle down, although it won't really be finished until next weekend when Himself gets my other cabinet assembled.

Next, I'll have to start planning the swap of the west and north wall furniture. That's going to take a while, and I think I'll do it in stages.

Tomorrow Himself flies off to Charlotte NC, to look at a John Deere tractor factory, and I have errands to run and laundry to wash and daughters to get off to school. I'm very nervous about it, and will miss him badly, but these things have to happen now and again in his business.

I wish you all good health and hope that your weekends were pleasant.
