and the usefuls have darn near slayed me... I ache in places I didn't know I had.

I spent most of the weekend sorting, reorganizing and culling stuff in my "studio" and the bedroom closet. I keep finding projects I bought supplies for and even started years ago* and never finished, not to mention the crafts the girls liked once and have outgrown. Well, they're going now. The ARC truck is coming tomorrow morning, and between my stuff and the things the daughters cleared out of their rooms, we have quite a pile of donations. The crafts go to a friend of a friend for the orphanage in Mexico.

I had a minor epiphany - I decided to stop hoarding the pretty little storage trunks with the pink celestial paper, which I was saving for just that special thing to store in them, and use them to store stuff I have now instead of keeping it in disintegrating xerox paper boxes. Of course, that meant going through the stuff and finding another place for the things that didn't fit, and getting rid of a few more things, but that's all part of the process. I also dragged out the nice purple-and-turquoise plastic craft caddy thingy and sorted my collection of plastic zip-top storage bags of all sizes** into it. It takes up more space than the plastic storage box, but at least I can find what I want now.

Now I just have to find a used bookstore that's still in business and not more than a half-hour drive awayŦ, to buy my cast-off embroidery and costume books, but that's a project for another week.

And then this morning there's the shopping, the laundry, the washing of the six new bath towels (to be followed shortly by the culling of six old worn-out bath towels, to be turned into useful rags for cleaning hairballs off the carpet, ick)...

But later this week, I'm going to order that wrought-iron basket tree from the eBay store, because by the time it arrives, there will be space in the closet for it.

Ooh, lunchtime. I can has lunch? I can has nap? No, still doing laundry. Later, then.

*In some cases, twenty or more years. It's rather embarassing.

**Literally - from 1"x1" to 9x12, and far too many of them.

ŦSo I can actually use my credit slip before that store goes belly-up. Used bookstores in Southern California are something of an endangered species.
