Quilt, continued

anne_dYesterday, I finished binding the quilt.
Today, I added half-inch organdy ribbon in shades of purple, turquoise and pink (very sparkly and pretty) over the binding, using a narrow zigzag stitch along the inside edge.
I whipstitched the top outside edge of the ribbon and tacked down the corners so it wouldn't roll onto the quilt. Then I whipped down the bottom edge of the rod pocket (or sleeve, as it it sometimes called) and tested it to make sure the hanging rod would still fit through, which it did. Score one for the idiot.
The quilt is pretty much complete, except for additional embellishment; perhaps some fish beads are in order. But next I should get back to the mermaid. Little pearl and seed bead and shell necklaces and bracelets, I think, and some sequins on her tail, perhaps. But that's for later. Tomorrow is dentist day. [whimpers]
