Monday, Go Away
Apr. 21st, 2008 08:17 amIt's Monday. I don't like Mondays.
It's far too sunny, my allergies are in full bloom, I have major PMS and I feel like a blimp. The city has commenced the resurfacing of the alley behind our house, which will go on for at least a month and disrupt both trash pickup and parking. There are jackhammers, and Emily's complaining about the noise. She's got a lot of damn nerve - she can go to college and study in the library. I can't get away from it because my "job" is here.
Just to make things more wonderful, this week's Calvin and Hobbes is the one with the injured raccoon. I know how that series ends, and it's not happy. I so do not need more sad this week.
Grumble grumble whine whine growl. Have I mentioned that I really don't like Mondays?

Date: 2008-04-21 04:49 pm (UTC)I'm supposed to visit my doctor on Thursday, and I was hoping that the ten pounds I've lost and kept off would help the bp, but with all the noise and bother going on, it might be a vain hope.
On the other hand, I laid down a few home truths to the eldest spawn, as in if she doesn't like the noise, she can go study in the college library.
Goddess, the windows are rattling now. Trucks, why did it have to be trucks? At least snakes are quiet. Which reminds me that there was a Reptile Room at Faire, or at least a reptile enclosure. The handler had a lovely boa wrapped around his neck. I refrained from calling him "Uncle Monty" (he didn't look right anyway).

Date: 2008-04-21 04:44 pm (UTC)I forgot to mention that the next-door neighbor to the south is doing something in his back yard that involves at least two pickup trucks, several men yelling at each other, and jackhammers. Shadow is going from door to door, trying them all in an attempt to find the one to Quiet World...
