Mermaids with hair, hands and tails.

Not to scale (groan) - The green aventurine-faced mermaid is actually half again as big as the one with the carved bone moon-face. Also, the colors do not show to advantage. I'll take better pictures when they're actually finished.

The green one's tail is made from dyed mulberry bark.



Please note nifty raku pottery hands on the little one. I had to use them. The tail will be topstitched to make it less floppy at a later time.


An update, 3 Sept 2008. They have names: The moon mermaid's name is Selene, the green mermaid is Sylvie (courtesy of S'cubie Diane).
