Vrooom

I hunted yard sales (not much, and that damp), I had breakfast at Denny's, and then I drove. All the way to Costa Mesa, on the wet slippery freeways with the intermittent light rain, the BIG!TRUCKS! and the idiots weaving in and out of traffic, driving far too fast and talking on their cell phones.

I went to all five shops on my list, all over CM, and drove home on the same nasty freeways without causing or getting into an accident.

This may not seem like much to the rest of the world, but this is more and farther driving than I've been able to manage in some time. I'm so afraid of zoning out on the road* that I don't want to drive anywhere.

So I got a couple things I've been looking for, went to the romance used bookstore that I don't normally visit because it opens at 10:30 and it's at the far end of the 55 (three Regencies by authors on my quest list), and I listened to parts of two hours of Car Talk, which is always of the good. Car Talk and Wait Wait Don't Tell Me are my weekend therapy; CT's like Red Green for real and Wait Wait is just fun.

I have a tension headache, and everything hurts, but damn, I drove.

*Which is also why I stopped listening to CDs while driving; NPR may cause me to yell at the radio**, but I stay focused.

**Especially when Certain Persons of the opposing party are pontificating.
