I've been working on the second lesson of the art quilt class. I finally got enough done to share on the Joggles forums, so I thought I might as well share here too.
Here's the piece as far as I've gotten:
Lesson 1 post

Just because I felt like it, the fabric for the labyrinth (iron-on design from Sublime Stitching) all hooped up and ready to go, approximately where it'll be when it's done:

As you can see, I decided to rotate the piece 90° and add a strip of ivory shaded batik down the side. I'm using the same batik for the labyrinth embroidery, which will be in a darker turquoise for the outer path, and a lighter aqua for the inner.
After I'm done with all the embroidery (yes, there's going to be more here and there), I get to add bits of trim and lace and so forth; I've already got a few vintage possibilities set aside. Then I'll figure out what to do with it. I'm thinking tote bag, although I'll have to make one from scratch. The largest canvas bag I could find would've been the right size, until I washed it in cold water and line-dryed it, as per the instructions, and it shrunk an inch in all dimensions. Oh well, it's still a good bag and it'll do for groceries.
But right now, I'm going to work on the labyrinth and stop letting myself get distracted by random possibilities for the future. It's a bad habit I have, along with the worrying, and I need to work on that.
