So this morning I drove to the Anaheim Toyota dealership with my recall notice. Then I sat in the waiting area, and sat, and sat, and sat...

At least they had donuts and a machine that makes chai lattes. Probably from powder and hot water, but it tasted good.

I got home three hours later, with a list of a few other things that need fixing, like a couple of small oil leaks and new tires all 'round. I'll take the car to our local guy next week, I guess. I also have a Toyota corporate number to call, in case the computer that got replaced last December had to do with the recall. It involves the same circuits and all, so the service rep thought it might. In which case we could maybe get some money back. Maybe. I'll have to find a way to fax the paperwork to Toyota, though, and we do not have a fax machine at home. Apparently everybody who is anybody has their own fax machine these days.

Basically, I blew the morning, and am now wore out, which means I blew the whole day I was going to spend pottering around doing not much. I still don't know if I'm driving the Elder Daughter back to college tomorrow; her meeting got cancelled after everybody got there, because one member of the group didn't show. It may be tomorrow morning, it may be tomorrow afternoon (in which case she'll take the bus), it may not happen at all, we don't know, and until we do, I can't plan anything. I was going to try, again, to get my hair cut, but I may have to put that off until next week. Argh.

Last night, however, I got some creative stuff done. I cut out the fabric and batting for a new French memo board for the bat collection, and found some ribbon and buttons in my hoard. There may not be enough buttons in the color I chose, but I'll worry about that later. They came out of a big bag of buttons, and I stopped looking after I found a few, so I'll start with the bag.

I also put together a concept I've been playing around with; I have a collection of those enamel pendants of Hindu deities, plus a Kwan Yin, a Virgin of Guadalupe and a Venus on her shell. Anyway, goddesses, which I hung on a Mexican tin-and-brass necklace with stars and suns on it. It's currently a swag in front of the goddess shrine/collection, but I'm going to hang it someplace else in the studio later maybe. I have long-term plans to take apart the animal totems and the goddess collection and recombine them into one shelf, which will free up a shelf for more storage. But that's for the long haul. The pottering continues...

And now, I need lunch before I fall over in a heap and start eating chocolate.
