Acorns and Oak Leaves
Oct. 13th, 2011 11:34 am Stickpin with crocheted acorns and oak leaves (actually rose leaves, it's as close as I could get) in size 30 Cebelia crochet cotton, designs adapted from vintage Irish crochet patterns. Stems are florists' wire wrapped with the same thread, pin is about 3½" long from the tip of the topmost leaf to the end of the stickpin:

I made two of them with more or less the same layout; Bestest Buddy is getting the second one. If ever I do this again, I'm going to find something less white than polyester fiberfill for the stuffing, maybe some dark wool roving.

On the other hand, considering that it took me several years from concept to completion (there were a lot of interruptions), I don't think I'll be trying again any time soon. I have too many other UFOs* in the pipeline anyway.
