I can't stand it.
Paul took the day off so he could take Emily to look at local colleges.
This is all very well, except that suddenly it's not the colleges she wants, it's the ones he wants. Emily wants to check out the nearest, Cal State Fullerton. Paul wants UC Riverside and Pitzer in Claremont. Guess where they're going today?
I suggested they go by CSF on the way home. Paul says no, they can go there anytime and he wants to go to UCR and Pitzer. Yeah, right. When he gets home from work, all he wants to do is take a nap. Asshat.
So Emily's going to whine, and Paul's going to act like an ass, and nothing will actually get accomplished, and I'll end up driving her to look at the colleges she's interested in because the SU doesn't want to. Same old same old.
My head hurts. My stomach hurts. I want to run away from home, except that slaves don't get to do that. I HATE EVERYBODY. The really lovely part? I have to never, never tell my mom, because she'll tell my dad, and that'll reinforce all of his negative opinions about the husband and give him yet more reasons to (a) ban Paul from his royal presence and (b) be generally nasty about Paul to me and the girls, which means that I'll have to be constantly on alert and ready to bail on the Aged Ps at any moment.
