Timtex Tuesday

Between many, many loads of laundry, I:
Caught up on my DVRd Torchwood episodes off BBCA, which are just barely watchable, in my opinion, but I keep hoping it'll turn into whatever people thought was so wonderful. Although, since I've already seen the last half of S2 and Children of Earth, I am not optimistic.
Continued my reread of the works of Seanan McGuire, which are wonderful and reread quite nicely; I'm catching things hinted in the earlier books that turn out to be important later (I love when a writer has that much confidence).
And, finally, started embroidering my Timtex with the design based on my photo of our front porch fieldstone pillar:

The photo converted to black-and-white, cropped and contrast upped:

The design traced onto plain paper, which I took to Kinko's and reduced and cropped some more, then traced onto tissue paper and pinned over the Timtex:

The embroidery so far, the outlines in a very dark brown, and appliqués in sheer white layered over copper lamé:

Now I just need to decide what stitches to do next, and in what colors of floss. Easy...
