I got the netting onto the gourd. After several false starts and unpickings because I didn’t have a lot of the 2-ply waxed linen and couldn’t waste any. Then I went back to the eBay store that was selling off their stock and ordered three more 10 yard cards. So far:
I previously spritzed the gourd with Ranger Adirondack Color Spray in Butterscotch, then gave it a couple coats of Liquitex Satin Varnish to seal it.

Next I pull out all the possible beads and see what works. I’m thinking something like the Santo Domingo Pueblo jewelry my mom had, bone pendants inlaid with red coral, turquoise, and black bits of old vinyl record. No, really, you could see the grooves. Depression era Santo Domingo Pueblo, look it up. Anyway, red, turquoise, and black, probably at least one turquoise fetish.
But that’s for another day. I have a headache and my eyes are twitching.
