Happy Ladies Day
Aug. 16th, 2008 02:53 pmThe curse, if not broken, was at least spindled and mutilated today.
D drove here from Palm Springs, thereby circumventing the freeway curse, heh heh. Shadow heard her car and started begging to go out and greet her, with a completely different vocabulary from the one she uses to greet random passers-by. She's known her Auntie Daria since the day after we brought the kittens home, and D is part of her family.
It was too hot and we were both too tired for long-range driving, so we drove around Brea looking for yard sales and went to Staples and Walmart after some quest items (partially successful), then wandered around the Birch Street Promenade (which title, I think, should be pronounced in poncey tones whilst looking down one's nose) and had steak salads at Carvao Grille.
Then we came home and did some internet research on storage for my studio, and I introduced D to the addictive properties of Silvercrow Creations, where she ordered a house milagro like the one I got her and a mens' wedding milagro for a gay couple for whom she needed a little gift. And there was tea and cookies and venting and gossip, and all is good.
Now I'm going to fall over, because it's hot and sticky out. I hope all of you have had a good Saturday as well. I needed this one, because tomorrow is Aged Ps visit day, which is always a bit tense.
