Dragonfly Fairy

The last of the felt fairy kits - I had a pair of wings left over from the kit that became the butterfly fairy, so I decided to make this one a dragonfly. I decided against giving it a long bugle bead abdomen, though - it just didn't look right on that little pear-shaped body.




I added a vintage floral stamen for the antennae, some extra rainbow metallic thread to the hair, and acrylic rhinestones for the big compound eyes and to give it more sparkle.

I'll take a group picture after I get their habitat made. I have some silk foliage all ready and waiting, but I need to find a bonsai pot in earth tones - all the ones at the thriftshops are too bright and colorful.
