The year before I got pregnant with Emily, I made a really nice upper-class lady's costume to wear to Ren Faire - possibly the closest to accurate I ever did - shirt with little neck ruff and green Holbein embroidery based on a portrait of the period, overdress, underskirt with fancy front panel, all in shades of dark green and off-white. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of me wearing it; someone we went with took pictures but refused to share them. Then, there was Emily, and I never fit back into the costume again.
Today, I dug it all out so Emily could try it on. It's a bit big in places (I was fifteen years older than she is, and bigger in a couple of places), but quite wearable, and on her, it looks stunning, although I don't think she'll put up with the hooped petticoat. At least someone will be wearing it again. *Sobs*
Anne, tempus fugit and all that jazz
