Paul is taking tomorrow and Friday off for his annual manly man vision quest aka driving far away vacation. He was planning on heading out directly from work, but decided to drop by to pick up a few things he forgot and/or thought of later. So he did, and he's on his way north to someplace around Coalinga, to spend the night at a motel, then the next few days driving back along the San Andreas fault.

But that's not important here. What is important is that I decided to take a day off (ha, as if) to work on a small shiny thing project. And here it is. )

I've been fiddling around with a little brass telescope pendant and some other bits for a while. Today I finally put it all together. Now all I need is an excuse to wear it. my shiny thing )

It's been a long, stressful, and depressing week. So today after I'd got the wash going and walked to the market, I blew off the usefuls and played.

I made a shiny thing. Then I took a picture of it, and the last shiny thing I made, too. Look, shiny! )

This morning, I finished the moonface pendant. another shiny thing )

I decided to take a day off from my online watercolor class and do what I felt like doing. These had been sitting and waiting for inspiration since I bought the pendant some years ago, and today it all came together. So I made a shiny thing. Wanna see my shiny thing? )

I've finished the first of my felt birds, a wug. Cut for photos )

I finished All The Hearts, so here's a photo of the lot. The colors are a bit brighter in real life, but you can get the general idea.

I still have to figure out where to hang it, and find something to use as a rod, but that can wait a bit. The important thing is, it's done. Rainbow colors, yay )

I've finished the quilt itself, at least I think so. Now all it needs is backing and binding, and a sleeve on the back for the rod with which to hang it. Cut for photo, because it's a bit big )

I've been working on the second lesson of the art quilt class. I finally got enough done to share on the Joggles forums, so I thought I might as well share here too. Read more )

I finished my assemblage bird kit last night, and took photos this morning, before the cats' appointments. It's a bird, it's a collage, it's an assemblage )
