Finished Mini Gourd Necklaces

Here they are, the original one that started with the class in, um, err, 2003, and the two I did this month. They're all wrapped in knotless netting, 2-ply Irish waxed linen threads.

Mini gourd vessel (top cut off), stained with waterproof stamp pad ink, black waxed linen thread, bone, copper, Peruvian clay, and glass beads. September 2003.



Mini gourd vessel, painted with metallic teal acrylic paint, dark green waxed linen thread, abalone shell fish and oval beads, silver metal heishi, and glass seed beads and drops. The dangles are spaced all the way around the gourd. It's kind of a Japanese glass fishing float vibe. November 2023.



Mini gourd, left intact, stained with waterproof sepia stamp pad ink, royal blue waxed linen thread, small silver spacers, star, moon, and round beads in semiprecious stones, mostly jaspers and agates. This one I originally envisioned with Czech glass stars, but it wanted earth tones instead. The round beads remind me of planets, especially the zebra jasper and Botswana agate, with the stripes and swirls. I took a couple of photos to show off the dangles, which are both off-center when it is worn. November 2023.
