Mermaids stole my brain

Well, this is certainly turning into one of those improvise-on-the-fly projects -

Two orders from Joggles in two days for my online class. This is embarrassing; I'm usually much better organized.

The raku moonface I was going to use on the smaller mermaid is too small, so I used a slightly larger one from my jewelry supply stash. It's a carved bone moon-face pendant from Bali, and it's rather sweet.

The larger mermaid has, I think, a better body. Unfortunately, I can't find a face for it - all the ones I have are either too small or much too large; the two that I ordered from Joggles are way too large. So I started looking around in my hoard, and after trying a large round shisha mirror, ended up with an aventurine (pale green) oval cabochon I picked up someplace years ago and put away planning to wire-wrap it. Well, it's different, anyway, and the color does work with the fabric wrap. There's a point at which you have to give up the hunt and go with what you've got. The mermaids' hair should also hide a multitude of sins flaws in construction, at least, I hope so.

Then there was Young Ladies' Day at the mall. The lady who does photo t-shirts is no longer there, which means I have to find either another source or a completely different idea for my dad's birthday, dammit.

Daria took some photos on my camera, so I guess I'll be mailordering as soon as I get them uploaded and choose one. Can't use Yahoo because they're closing down, so I guess I'll try Snapfish, seeing as I have an account there. Why does everything have to get so complicated?

Anne, and I hate hate hate being photographed anyway, growl
