So, I finished another thing. You know how you aren't supposed to iron velvet because the iron leaves a shiny mark? Well, some years back, someone decided to do it on purpose. With a rubber stamp.

Embossed Velvet article

I read the article and put it aside for future reference, as one does. At some point, I acquired a kit with some very simple rubberstamps, a piece of purple velvet, instructions and a few other notions and bits. Well, last week future reference finally arrived. I added a piece of teal velvet from my hoard and did my best to unwrinkle it, and set to work. Results are below. I made two drawstring bags with different stamps. The purple velvet took the embossing better, which probably has something to do with the fibre content of the velvets, but they're both pretty nifty.

So there they are. I had toyed with the idea of adding a beaded edging, but they really don't need it. So, what's next?
